A couple weeks ago we had a “lunar eclipse”:http://sunearth.gsfc.nasa.gov/eclipse/LEmono/TLE2008Feb21/TLE2008Feb21.html (the last total eclipse visible in North America until 2010). It was frigid, as it has been too often this winter, but it was also clear, and the moon rose over the courtyard behind my apartment, so I could watch it from my back porch.
